When Bishop Magarete Wanjiru of JIAM stood up to Dr David Owuor , the mightiest prophet of repentance and healing ministries, claiming that he was a fake prophet, Many observers wished there was more light to settle for the truth!
Here today I present an eyewitness account of someone who dined and wined with the prophet and found him wanting … You will need to hear what Kevin Okwara had to say about his experiences with the prophet, he convincingly exposes the man who has been so revered in this county because of his claims.

My Encounter with a ‘Prophet’ -2006 : The Oworism phenomenon

Sometime in 2006, we took a 3 day fast with a now famous Kenyan prophet. I
was by then doubling as one of his assistants in ministry and I suggested
we take a fast and retreat to recharge for the next crusades we had lined
up. We had been to Eldoret, Kitale, Kakamega, Oyugis and many other towns
and fatigue was catching up. We were also very drained ‘spiritually’ so I
suggested we take a three day fast. We agreed on a venue after consultation
with close team members and off we drove to The Great Rift Valley Lodge in
Naivasha – a very posh place. We booked in at about 5pm in the Hotel. The
Great Rift Valley Hotel is a collection of many posh houses built by the
who is who in Kenya as there holiday destination. When the houses are not
in use they are leased to the hotel for hiring out to guest. The house we
camped in for 3 days belonged to one wealthy lady (name withheld) in
Nairobi – one of the financial pillars of the ministry. We checked into
this very elegant house, well furnished and the prophet took upon himself
the task of assigning the rooms. He took the master bedroom ??? and I was
assigned another room by him. My brief experience with the prophet had
taught me to always say yes to anything he suggest and never question a
thing. I therefore got into my room and we agreed to meet at later in the
night for prayers. We had carried lots of juice courtesy of the owner of
the house and so we met in the living room at around 8pm and took some
coffee and juice as we took stock of the many missions we had done
together. For me it was a privilege to sit so close to a world renown
prophet. One who has been, not just to the US and UK but to heaven several
times and one who speaks to God face to face. A man who had prophesied the
tsunami and many other earth quakes and calamities around the world. What a
privilege for a simple Kenyan business man like me. The feeling was good
and I can confess there was great joy in my heart. As we sipped the juice
and coffee late into the night, we talked about the country, missions,
politics and about many servants of God in Kenya. I got to know the sheep
servants and the goat servants. I was informed about the next Kenyan
president and where Kenya will be in the near future. The conversation went
late into the night and by 3am we had not even prayed. We therefore said a
prayer and retired to bed. We spent three nights at the Great Rift Valley
Lodge but the last night was the most interesting of all. I would therefore
want to dwell on the details of the this night.
We met at about 10pm at the living room for our usual fellowship. This
night was very important because the prophet revealed to me many things and
especially about himself. I had many questions about his ministry and I
especially wanted to know why he gave too much emphasis on the message of
repentance and baptism. I wanted to know how his calling came about and
about his family and education. After taking juice and coffee late into the
night the prophet later told me what many Kenyans will never get to know.
This is Verbatim what Dr Prophet told me:
[1]. He is the ELIJAH the bible talks about in the book of Malachi 4:5…
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet, Before the coming of the Great
and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to
the children, And the hearts of the Children to their fathers, Lest I come
and strike the earth with a curse. [2] He is one of the witnesses the bible
talks about in Rev 11:3 .. And I will give power to my two witnesses, and
they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days clothed in SACK
CLOTH…These are the two olive trees and the two lamb stands standing
before the God of the earth… And if anyone wants to harm them, fire
proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies, and if anyone wants to
harm them, he must be killed in this manner (vs 6 very important ) These
have the power to shut heaven so that no rain falls in the days of their
prophesy and they have power over water to turn them to blood, and to
strike the earth with all plagues as often as they desire.. For those who
have walked with the prophet will correlate his activities with the above
verses. This explains why Dr Owour’s message is mainly centred on
Baptism, – I have been in many meetings where he has RE-BAPTISED people
including pastors children. The reason for doing this he says is because
most of us were baptised in DIRTY waters and with BAAL pastors and that
that baptisms are not recognised in heaven. Amazingly many pastors have
fallen victims of this. I personally resisted his baptism and this is one
reason I fell out of favour with him. Many people have no idea the
significance of this action (baptism). The prophet believes that once you
have been baptised by him you will automatically enter heaven. Just like
John the Baptist prepared the way for the coming of the Lord so shall Dr
Owour (Elijah) prepare the way for the Second Coming of the Lord.
Repentance and ( Sack Cloth Phenomenon) The first time this was practised
was in the Kapsakwony Repentance Crusade. I attended this meeting to only
to be met by women and men dressed in sack cloths. I don’t know who gave
the instruction for the people to put on sack cloths because at this time I
was not in a very good relations with the prophet! The scene was awful and
disgusting. This was the last crusade I attended. I remember leaving the
venue before the meeting ended. Old ladies and girls were actually naked.
The entire meeting was in a morning mood and the people put on sack cloths
that were see through. You could almost see the inner garments of the
wailing women. AWFUL.!! Judgment pronunciations (Those who have been close
to the prophet will attest to this. He loves to pronounce judgement. You
will have noticed by now that all his prophesies have been about
-bloodshed, earthquakes, fighting, drought etc. I remember a Bishops wife
from Kakamega who went into a fast for 40days because the Prophet told her
that He had shut the Heavens over her life. The lady was afraid and really
cried to the Lord. Many people have been held hostage over this
pronunciations. For instance, when I left the Ministry, judgement was
pronounced over my life. It was said that I will die through a motor
vehicle accident and even the specific place was given. This was shown to
the prophet in a vision. …. I am still alive and I am NOT DYING SOON. He
believes he is the last prophet to come on earth. Dr Owour believes NO BODY
TALKS TO GOD DIRECTLY APART FROM HIM. He is the ultimate authority in a
persons life. The people who work with him, FEAR him to death. They are
afraid of judgement over their lives. Anything the prophet says is Gospel
truth. On one occasion he anointed a couple who were preparing for their
wedding with wine. Yes I said wine. After the couple had married – they
were joined by a pastor friend of mine – they disagreed and fought several
times and the marriage was going to be dissolved were it not for a sister
friend who prayed with them. I believe they are now happily married! Now
back to theology. Many theologians believe that the two witnesses mentioned
in Rev11 are Elijah and Moses. I therefore asked Him whether the Lord had
revealed to him where Moses was on earth. He answered to the affirmative,
meaning that the Lord had already revealed to him that Moses was somewhere
on earth but they were yet to meet. You can imagine what I was feeling at
that moment. Sitting next to Elijah the prophet. Even the most mighty of
preachers have not had the privilege of talking to him (Elijah). I must
have been blessed!!mmmmmmmm When we were talking over a cup of coffee –
‘the time about 2am and only me and Elijah in a living room in Naivasha’ I
remembered what the bible says in Rev 11:7 – 10 and I quote .. “When they
finish their testimony, the beast that ascended out of the bottomless pit
will make war against them, overcome them and kill them. And their bodies
DEAD bodies will lie in the streets of the great city which spiritually is
called Sodom and Egypt where also our Lord was crucified. ……….. And
those who dwell in the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send
gifts to one another because this prophets tormented those who dwell on the
earth.”. I asked him weather he was aware about this verse and weather he
knew that one day he will die and his body will be in Jerusalem for three
days. ….. He told me that he was fully aware of that and he knows that he
will be killed and the body will surely lie on the streets of Jerusalem.
Now this is deep. Very deep indeed. I realised that he was silent for
sometime and I became afraid. Maybe I had asked something I shouldn’t have
asked. Fear gripped me. I also went silent. Then he told me that he would
want to tell me something that I should NEVER tell anybody otherwise I WILL
DIE. This secret is only revealed to his very close confidants and only
after the Lord has allowed it. ” YES I WILL DIE IN MARCH 19th 2016…. you
should never tell anybody this date otherwise you will DIE”. If you are
reading this note you may think that I am out of my mind but all the things
are writing here are verbatim. It was me and Prophet Owour in Naivasha
2006. I have since shared this with many pastors who think I am out of my
mind and will not believe anything I tell them. The most interesting thing
is that he shared this date with many of his confidants and none of us
could dare share mention it. We were afraid of the consequences -DEATH. Non
of us has since died and many have left, yes been delivered from the
ministry. When you are a follower of the Repent Kenya Ministry you cant
just leave. The spell is HEAVY. No amount of convincing gets a man out. Its
the Lord’s MERCY that will deliver you. So how was his calling. I wanted to
really know how he came to meet the Lord. Long story! The prophet does not
give you a specific date when he came to the Lord and about his conversion.
What we dwelt on that night was the divine visitations he kept on having
when in the US. We talked about his life in Israel, US and Mexico and
finally the calling to come to Kenya. He told me that after his many
visitations he tried to seek help from many men of God including T.D Jakes
and Benny Hinn but non wanted to help. As we discussed Hinn and his
ministry, the prophet remembered a vision where the LORD took the mantle
from Hinn and placed it on him (Owour). At this point he told me that Hinn
will be no more because the Lord has tranfered all the annointing to him.
Dr Owour has no mentor and no reference from any brother or sister from the
countries he came from. I have since tried to get any details about him
from Mexico where he claims that he prophesied the Tsumani but I have not
recieved a single pastor who has written back saying he has an idea about
him. All the returned emails say they have no idea about who Dr Owour is.
Strange! Most of the details about his calling are given in his videos and
they are a collection of blasphemous statements. Statements that make our
LORD look like a pale shadow of whi Dr Owour is. Most of the followers are
under a heavy spell and they cannot see anything wrong with the ministry or
Owour as a person. I pray that you get the videos and weigh them against
the word of God and you will realise the extent of blasphemy.!!!
We discussed some of his divine experiences which I will leave it to you to
decide the extent of its biblical standing. He told me that there are many
times HIS SPIRIT WOULD GET OUT OF HIS BODY … and that he experiences this
phenomenon several times where he gets out of the body and can see his
‘dead’ body. When this happens he is allowed to see and do many things in
the spirit. What this means biblically, I leave it to you to decide.
We broke the fast abruptly after the Lord spoke to him to do so. When he
woke up the next morning he said to me that the Lord had instructed him to
go back to Nairobi. Therefore we packed and left by 5pm to the city – back
to Riverside estate. We escaped a fatal accident near the Nairobi/Naivasha
Junction. Thanks to God for his mercy. There are things I would like you to
note about the fasting and prayer retreat we had with the prophet
We never ever spent time praying. Never did he share anything in the
scripture with me apart from the times I asked him very direct questions.
We only met in the night – say from 8pm to sometimes 3am in the morning.
All this time we drunk coffee and juice while talking. We talked about
missions, government, politics and mainly about men of God. We never spent
time praying. The only time he prayed for say 1 minute was when we were to
go to bed and that was about 3am in the morning. Dr Owour spent the entire
day in his room. At night he would share with me about his divine
visitations in his room. On one occasion he told me that Angel Gabriel had
visited. He spent most of the day with the Acrh angel. Other details and
things that I experienced and saw are too weighty to dare write them here.
If you don’t believe the above you may never believe any other thing I tell
you. I hope that this explains much about Owourism. I stand by every word I
have written. I would like to say that this details are with many men of
God who fear has gripped their hearts. Dare NOT TOUCH THE LORDS ANNOINTED.
If I continued in the ministry the following would have happened. Death,
divorce and bankrupcy. I would have lost my family. I thank the Lord for
Pastor Mungai, Sister Pauline from Nairobi and many simple men and women
that the Lord uses mightly and who prayed tirelessly for me and delivered
me from this ministry. By the way the name REPENT KENYA was my idea. I did
the first letter head in my office in Eldoret. I suggested the name and the
prophet was in agreement. The name has since changed to Repentance and
Holiness ministry. I will later post details on how I was asked to leave my
wife, the death of a young lady from Kitale in the ministry, How my car
(Musso) sank in Lake victoria, The Kakamega rain that never was, The
prophesy and announcement of my death in oyugis by the prophet, and many

Kenyans the truth because I was heavily involved in the ministry. I

more places.
God will not reprimand you for doing an evaluation of any of His prophets.
I challenge you to do a check on the following in the Repentance and
Holiness Ministry
The foundational believes of the Ministry. Compare with the written word of
God. Many people who are followers have no idea about the Ministerial
doctrine. The doctrine is Dr Owour. It depends on his prophecies and it
changes with time. He can say this today and something else tomorrow 2. How
comes most of the confidants are divorced or separated. Fred Otieng the
assistant who carries the prophets bible separated from his wife and he is
proud about it. When travelling from Kisumu with him, he proudly told me
that he cannot share his bed with his wife. He is separated and sanctified
to walk with the prophet. Do you own homework and find out how many
marriages are broken. A sister came to me for advice – the prophet had told
her that the hubby is a free mason and she therefore needs to separate. I
was advised never to come and pick the prophet in the company of my wife.
She was called a demon and satanic. I wonder how many of his ardent
followers know about the doctrine of sanctification that the Owourians
believe. You need to abstain from having sex with your wife for seven days
before you minister with him. Heeeeee your wife will run away if you are
ministering all the Sundays in the year – wangine in mwezi moja….. I
remember a brother was whisked away from the podium in Kapsakwony. When
asked why I was told that the prophet had discerned something.. the guy had
not observed the doctrine of sanctification 3. Prophesies that have come
true
1 When in oyugis the prophet prophesied that there will soon be two moons.
Really!!!!
2 Kibaki will never see presidency. Who is president today.
3 Nairobi will be flattened by a massive earthquake. Nairobi is being built
including the super highway
4 Kevin will die in a motor accident. In fact he told a congregations of
pastors in Oyugis that I was dead already. I am alive and not going to the
grave soon
5 The work the Lord sent him to do in Kenya is finished. He even told Kenya
bye on KBC TV. He went briefly and is back to Kenya.
6 He laid a curse in Eldoret. Kakamega, Kitale. One day we went 11 pastors
from Eldoret to see him in Nairobi. He kept is waiting for more than five
hurs only to meet us and read to us Mal 2. Find out what that means
7 The list is endless.
What does Owour call the other churches… BAAL CHURCHES. Its only Kings
Outreach Churches that are Heaven bound Ask me the significant of His
beared. He says the Lord commanded him to leave the beared until all his
judgement on Kenya come true. We are waiting How comes the ministry leaves
broken churches, Christian unions, and homes etc Some people have quit work
and are fasting waiting for the coming of the Lord. His followers see no
God in other churches Where does the prophet get his funding. The first
time he preached – he was against security. Today there is no man of God
who is heavily guarded with state security like Owour The kind of life the
prophet leaves is no ordinary life. He is a spendthrift and a lover of good
life. I have lived with him and I know The list is endless. Do your
Homework.

I and my friend met the prophet when he had just begun being popular. We were excited to exchange greetings in the Cafeteria at Nyayo House and he asked him who we were. My friend responded: Anglican Priests; of which his response was: You are going to hell if you don’t repent. All Anglicans going to hell?! Give me a break. From then on, I have nothing to do with the prophet.

A once become a victim of such doctrine and now, Iam my pursuing my divorce. I almost died but I was prayed for and assisted by Pr. Nzavi. Hi Pricilla, i can only imagine as a mother what all this has caused you. This so called prophet has intruded learning institutions and is really causing havok. My sister inlaw is in Masai mara university doing a tourism course, she was a very nice gal unti she joined this cult. for a moment i thought i didnt know her anymore. her dressing is awful even my own motherinlaw does not dress that way. My worry is will she even present her self as a potential employee when all her dresses are baggy and zinafagia kwa barabara akitembea, she doesnt wear any make up or jewellery or even make her hair, she looks so shaggy until sometimes you are ashamed of her. we tried to talk to her in vain, she even ran away from home to live with a pastor for about two months coz i had questioned her about her behavior of coming home late evry day ati anatoka kwa maombi. she was even ready to stop school to follow the prophet. so my dear u are not a lone in this the only thing we can do is pray for them. coz i have seen many of them destroy families, i know of a friend who left her husband and kids to follow this ministry

My wife goes to this Church. One night I came home from work at about 11pm she was not home. I called her on her cell phone she told me she was at her Pastor’s house for prayers and was leaving right away. When she got home she did not understand why I was upset after all I know her pastor personally. Mark you She had not informed me of this prayer meeting. My problem wiith this church is they preach the church and the leader more than they do Christ. She keeps inviting our friends and relatives to the church not to salvation. We ALL need to seek God from deep within our hearts and not depend on a man ( Prophet, pastor ,Bishop or what ever the title) or church, denomination or sect. Just you and God through Christ period

I am not a minister of the Gospel. I am not a holy man, though I work

glory of God and sins, but finds mercy in the throne of Jesus anytime

For long I have always queried Dr. Owuor’s Ministry. I have never
gotten so close to the truth about him, until I read this story. I
have very serious reservations about him and you just confirmed my
doubts. I think many of his followers fear him more than the Lord
Jesus himself. He has become an idol. Perhaps he began well, but I
dont think he is in the spirit, and God forbid if we are wrong about
this. When I watch his crusades, I have lots of doubts; I can hardly
listen to him throughout. The fact that he doesn’t recognize other
Ministries is proof enough of this. And why doesn’t he prophesy some
good news by the way?
My prayer that God will surely reveal himself amidst all this drama!
So that like Batholomew, people may get to see again. My own home
church split into two, one half following Owour, they are more
miserable from the look of things. The preachings are all about what
the prophet has said, not what the word says, or the spirit of God. It
is appalling. I am not really a theologian, but I am a disciple of
Christ, I know him, and I would know where God’s true spirit dwells
and ministers. Sio kwa Owuor.

I strongly believe every person will be answerable to God, for every account of deed, and every word we uttered, we may all have questions, sometimes difficult to answer, but I believe Prophet Owuor leads the message of repentance, if God would ask anything of us today, it would only be to lead holly lives. I find it disturbing with this brother that he has personal things with Owuor, and he’s led by a spirit of Pride and arrogance. I know that we can declare Gods visitation in way of anticipating Gods visitation during an up coming crusade or time of prayer or revival meeting, To tie Gods anticipated visitation with your presence in the meeting is to equate yourself to God. False prophets are emerging coz we are nearing the end of the world. Refrain from them coz many will come saying they are God,Moses, Elijah. No any prophet was honored intact the message they deliver rattled the kings of their time….if owuor ministry is from the lord it will continue whether you like it or not but if it is not it will cease to be.
2. In Ken okuara argument I see a frustrated man who wants to settle scores with owuor .if okuara is a gentle man he should tell us openly what happened between them.
3. That women attended owuor crusade naked someone ought to ask mr. Okuara some questions ,was he the only one who could see naked women in the crusade,where was the media because they always accompany owuor whenever he has crusade. Moreover the crusade is attended by 1000s of people.
4.Mr okuara should stop tarnishing the name of someone he once followed , the right thing to do is to go to owuor and settle their differences.

Am sorry to say I have wasted a good amount of time following the information in this blog. This blog looks like it is not interested in the truth. They are rattled by the many deliverance and healing which occur at meetings courtesy of the Lord Jesus Christ! Prophet Dr. Owour is just a servant/messenger like all the prophets who were before him. Miracles in his meetings started the other day in order for you and me to belief in the message of Repentance and Holiness.
All of us are searching for the truth and that’s the only one that will set us free.
I am at all not surprised at these blackmail. Jesus Christ was blackmailed. Pharisees who were extremely knowledgeable in law, probably more than you are today, did not even recognize Jesus. Why then do we expect that if Jesus were to come today you will recognize Him leave alone His Prophet. They rejected Jesus and eventually killed him. What makes the difference between us and them? Completely Nothing!except that we are more worse.
Luke 7:22 – Jesus elaborates to John’s Messengers about His ministry which in actual sense John had also started doubting because Jesus looked like he didn’t care about John. To John the ministry had not brought any much goodies hence the anxiety. He was ‘languishing’ in prison as Jesus went about with His ministry.
When it comes to fear, there is every reason to fear God! he is extremely in excess of what we can imagine. He is not your normal buddy. The Bible says …..work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Once you have worked out your salvation then probably the fear will dye a natural death. Otherwise we will be called to be accountable and will sit on judgement forever, a million years plus! If anybody does not think there any reason to fear for these consequences then we are being lied to.
On the flip side if our salvation is well worked out, then there is every reason to rejoice. But then again the only time we will confirm that our preparation was completed successfully is when we enter into rapture.
The words of God are deep and not just mere directionless judgements we are raising here. Personally I would warmly welcome the person who lead many to Jesus Christ without strings attached except having faith and believe in Jesus Christ. This Jesus Christ through Prophet Dr. Owour is not only accomplishing this but also many other things are happening. You are just talking here and you have never even led one person to Christ leave alone drive away small flu. And yet God has placed at your disposal the same gifts.
People are getting healed.To the many who have been healed in the meetings of the Lord, they will gladly tell you -‘Whether the Prophet is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was sick but but now I am healed’ – John 9:25. And God will take care of the rest!
May God have mercy on us and teach us His ways. Shalom.

I have had a first hand encounter with followers of prophet Owour and i really don’t like it. My sister in law joined that church early last year despite us being against it. she had been going there behind our back and once we noticed we advised her against it but she refused to listen to us. My hubby and i attend Friends Quaker church and that is where their whole family have been going since. sometimes we forced her to attend our usual church(quaker) but instead of listening to the word she would arrive in the church and start sleeping. that is when i advised my husband to let her go wherever she wanted.
she joined campus last year in January, that is when she became even worse coz there is no one to monitor her movement, she is rarely in school moving around in crusades, we tried to advise her to concentrate on her studies but she told us she cant miss the coming of jesus because of school.
she has changed her dressing, she looks like a clown, she doesnt wear nice fitting clothes, she doesnt wear make up, she doesnt make her hair and she really looks bad. i have advised her that she can wear those long dresses if she likes them but they should be decent, Muslim women wear Buibui but they are decent they dont look like clowns but she doent listen to us. she sees us as sinners who cant even tell her anything. she has really grown thin, i think they are advised not to it (i reallly dont know). We cant stand her in our house anymore although we usually miss her coz she stays in college but immediately she comes there is always trouble
We are the ones(me and my hubby) paying her school fees but believe me the last holidays she only came home for a few weeks then she packed her things and went to stay with her pastor. i was so mad putting in mind that i dont have a maid and my hubby and I work so at least when she is home she assists us with duties putting in mind we take care of her needs while in school. i have since forgiven her

The truth is in the good book the Holy bible but because almost all so called christians are lazy to read have left the ‘prophets’ the ‘priests’ the ‘pastor’ the ‘evangelists’ and the ‘evangeprenuers’ to read and interpret it for us, instead of sharing the word of God we take command and orders from them-for heavens sake a pastor ordered his congregation to crawl and eat grass like goats and they obliged-isnt this ignorance and madness. Brother it makes no meaning to start attacking Owuor, I compare your writings to Muguna Miguna about Odinga, I am not a religious person but can see alot of bad things in your heart. If i were you I would focus in shapping my relationship with God.
You have quoted the book of revelation as a way of earning readers conviction but I can tell you to go and serach for the deeper meaning of the book. I believe it talk about Jesus, Gods plan to save his people and satan and its agents activities, the main thing is for believers to be weary of deception. I use to go to church but I have losed faith in most preachers because they always scheme for money and take pride in the so called my followers, I think from your statement you are part of the big wandwagon.

Your article on The self made prophet is very true. i have been hated
by many of his followers for questioning his character. some are even
loosing their mind because of being die hards of his prophecies. i
once said that he was the false prophets said in the bible i was about

i read with keen interest your article. I am one of those people that is deeply concerned about this ministry. I am concerned basically because my immediate family members are followers!
I have also attended few sermons in their kisii sanctuary and i have always had several questions until i finally decided that this is not where I belong.
So i have now joined a new ministry but how can i convince my mom and sisters who seem to be deeply rooted in this ministry to leave?
This ministry seems to be having very strange doctrines that Paul talks about in his epistles. I heard that he(Owuor)even forbed a young man who is a singer in his ministry to marry. he claims God had instructed him to tell the young man that he should not get married. Really?

If the bible commands us to test every spirit, what is wrong to test M.O.G? If we do not consciously , deliberately and verbally refuse praises from men we set up ourself for a downfall. The praises from men fun our pride which comes before a fall and thus for starters the prophet must deliberately refuse the praises (mightiest prophet, my lord etc.) of his followers else they will devour him alive. As a believer I thought I would find where you have also sought the Lord and got the truth from Him about who Prophet Owuor is serving if not Jehovah. Why would I believe you when I have seen and heard the message from Him being consistent since he began preaching? Does the devil tell men to repent of sin and turn to righteousness and holiness? We may tend to believe you just because you claim to have been close to the man of God but truth be said, I find no Christ likeness of heart and spirit in your article.
We must all work out our salvation with fear and trembling. The evidence of the man of God’s ministry as a prophet is clear and we atest to it. Many lives have been transformed through the Lord’s use of him. Where there are weaknesses due to human naturedness, we know as James 5:17 speaks of the prophet Elijah, we bless the Lord for the grace that sustains us in salvation. And here I say, after all if He be the Elijah spoken of in Malachi, why not believe it for at the end of the day the Lord has promised so in His Word and it shall come to pass anyway. All I know, all evidence points to the fact that we truly are in the days of ushering in the return of our Savior Jesus Christ.
As for you, swallow your pride and bitterness and humble before the Lord by appreciating Him for using Prophet Owuor to bring hope to many who have no ‘seeds’ to plant in order to receive what they need from the Lord and for exposing the wickedness in the church by wolves in sheep skin…. The Lord remains True and will reveal the truth or in Prophet Owuor and you. I say as Gamaliel in Acts 5.34-9

……a man born of this earth can never be my agent to communicate with my God in heaven, I will do so myself. My Jesus came to make the way clear for me to directly talk to God, his father, through prayer. Isn’t this discrimination. I don’t know how true this is, but A story is going round that Fred Otieng the prophet’s PA attempted suicide I think this is a clear indication that something fishy is going on . I say this because if you look closely at how the ministry began Fred was at very close levels with daktari I started to take notice that since 2012 he has been very reserved until this story surfaced.
As a Bible believing Christian I have been trying to study daktari’s doctrine especially the rapture, wedding rings, clock of God etc with respect to the Bible, I came to realize some teachings seem to contradict the Bible for example the wedding rings, I really don’t see such a teaching in the Bible for you to learn it you only have to listen to daktari, which begs the question between man and God’s word which of the two has higher precedence?

Thanks James, let me be very sincere I was once a follower of the ministry for over 5 years But I have had very many questions concerning this ministry. The most Important touches even on what is being preached, a good example is the pre- Tribulation rapture doctrine , this message however well preached cannot be true the Bible makes it absolutely clear that it is after Tribulation when Christ shall come and infact in one of the beatitudes Christ said ” blessed are those who are persecuted for they shall inherit the kingdom of God ” , in any case also Jesus referred us to Prophet Daniel concerning the end of age, read Dan 11: 31. That’s why I have had problems with the doctrine furthermore certain teachings seem good but on close inspection they appear strange, a good example is the teaching of the wedding rings in the sky, in the Bible there is Nowhere this is taught , that’s what made me be careful because Paul warns of people introducing a gospel other than what we have received being condemned read Philippians. By the way if you read the calling daktari says he was told by John the Baptist to go to the Four corners of the earth to prepare the way, how is this possible considering John the Baptist died , how is it he receives the commission from a departed Spirit? such a case we hear when King Saul consulted a medium to enquire of Prophet Samuel who had died this boarders necromancy and this plus many more issues forced me to leave the ministry.

I agree with the fact that Jesus Christ is coming soon, However we should look into the ministry with an open mind, the fundamental reason why I am uncomfortable with this ministry is the fact that the foundation is firmly on the Prophet and not on Christ, suppose for some reason he decides to leave the country or even the ministry for good ,what happens to the fanatical following who put so much faith in him? It will be hard for the followers to accept the reality of the situation, I fear some may try to commit suicide just like Pastor Fred Otieng did early this year. Consider what happened to Him Jones who forced his followers to drink cyanide poison leading to death of nearly a thousand people.

Many Nigerians surged at him as he stepped out of the arrival hall of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, accompanied by Senator Helen Esuene, her daughter, Mrs. Eme Udom and Rev. Israel N. Israel, the man many know as his anchor in Nigeria.
Israel lives in and runs a church called Glorious Covenant Church in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. It was through this small congregation in the Niger Delta that controversial Kenyan preacher David Owuor who goes by the title ‘prophet’ crept into Nigeria; paying uncelebrated visits in 2011 and 2012.
“God bless you,” he spoke softly and motioned in that famed manner of revered religious personalities as he received a bouquet of flowers from a little girl.
These persons rushing forward to have Owuor lay hands on and pray for them had previously listened as he fielded questions from a small party of journalists. Hitherto, Owuor’s mat of heavy, tangled beard reaching down to his chest masked his identity. Was he an artiste? His features conveyed the image of a sage. His conversation with the journalists revealed his personality.
As he was gently urged by Esuene and Israel to approach the car conveying him to his hotel, a few security men joined the rush for Owuor’s touch. He looked at a middle-aged man and insisted that he remove the rosary on his neck before he could touch him.
It took four years to plan what was supposed to be a heroic return to Nigeria, a country which is in Owuor strategic scheme. His desire to make a lasting impression could be discerned from his insistence that his coming must be organised by a pool of influential Nigerian churches and personalities. Welcome, Repent Now Nigeria, an inter-denominational platform “to plan for his reception in order that many Nigerians from denominations can be reached.”
The group which also had Mrs. Usen Bassey, Miss Ese Ekiugbo and Iniobong Esuene planned a three-day event. The first two days were fixed for meeting with church heads at the MUSON Centre, Onikan-Lagos and the last day scheduled a ‘healing service’ at the Tafawa Balewa Square in the same vicinity. Owuor was quartered at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island.
Senator Esuene was the arrow head, although she modestly referred to it as team work. But she was the interface at many meetings concerning Owuor’s 2016 visit to Nigeria. Commuter buses carried the message of his visit to Nigeria and a private television network was contracted to record and transmit his activities in the country.
Owuor carries the stigma of a fake preacher, even in his home country. And many decent and self-respecting clergy keep their distance from him. Try as they did, the Repent Now Nigeria group was not able to get a buy-in from the organised body of Christians like the Christian Association of Nigeria and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria. Therefore, they were not officially represented at any of Owuor’s meetings.
In a veiled attack on another controversial Nigerian cleric in particular and many Nigerian preachers in general, Owuor said his coming to Nigeria signals an “end to ‘gospel of money’ where you have people come from South Africa and all these countries and you sell water and all kinds of things to them. I come to rise up against the gospel of money that is in this city. The gospel of buy your morning water, whichever water, gather people from Southern Africa, carry money to greet the men of God.”
A former research scientist at various universities in the US before his spiritual calling, Owuor claimed to have heard from God who has spoken with him about the coming of the Messiah.
He would repeat various versions of this message throughout his meetings, moderating it sometimes with a direct charge to church leaders.
“Nigeria is a God-fearing nation, but now if they are really God-fearing, then this is the moment to return to the true gospel of cross and the blood – the holy salvation and the gospel that is not connected to money- that we may prepare the hearts of the people and the nation for the coming of the Messiah and then everything else will follow.
“I really bring the message of holiness of repentance and to prepare for the coming of the King. So the kingdom of the church you see in Nigeria now, the building of universities, the money and private aircraft acquired with big money and all of that is going to come down. That is why I have come. I come with tremendous power and there is no question about that.”
Instead of the demonstration of ‘tremendous power’, all the meetings barely attracted a handful of people. The most obvious was the last assembly at the car park of the TBS which attracted little less than 400 persons. It was supposed to be a ‘healing service’ and Owuor whose strong taste for the miraculous in Nigeria could be seen by his invitation to inmates of two popular blind institutions in Lagos.
Even though he kept saying that the blind will see, at the end of the day, no blind eye was opened. No lame person abandoned his crutches. Owuor struggled to have a confirmation of his healing prowess in Nigeria, but it was as if God had taken leave of him!
The few persons who came forward claiming relief from pain, stuttered with the ‘testimony’, while Owuor kept asking if there was a doctor to confirm the magnitude of reprieve enjoyed by this people.
A near mishap towards the end of the TBS assembly would have marred Owuor’s reputation irredeemably. As wind storm heralding rainfall started the railing which held floodlights on stage collapsed on a little boy. Owuor who was still talking when this happened, started announcing that people should step away from electricity cables.
With worry written all over his face as it began to rain, he refused to heed Esuene’s request to enter a car. He continued to talk, as if to himself, “so this is the rain I saw in my dream.”

Honestly, it is quite sickening to see how easily one can become manipulated, in my view many non- discerning Christians suffer from Fact Deficiency Syndrome ( FDS), scripturally The theme of repentance has existed way before Christ came to the scene, it didn’t suddenly begin with Dr owuor this is a fact. Therefore we should not be deceived that holiness or repentance is from this man. Pointing out errors in doctrine is encouraged Because there is a fundamental freedom in Christ, I personally was involved in this so called ministry of repentance and holiness but regrettably I have witnessed fear and deception in this ministry of epic proportions, people have been reduced from Christians to puppets of Dr Owuor, I raised concerns about this that the ministry thrives on 3 things:
1. Fear
2. Intimidation
3. wrong doctrine/ foundation
Due to my concerns I was hurriedly evicted when confronted leaders with facts. Most of these so called Pastors and Bishop’s don’t have a fundamental Biblical training, they are just Bishop’s merely because Dr Owuor told them so, this people are not aware of their role they are actually PUPPETS of Dr Owuor with no calling.

For how long are we going to watch this man deceive us, it is abundantly clear that the among the most distinguished prophets under the old covenant was John the Baptist ( Matt 11: 1-18) but with the new message of the kingdom that role is obsolete given the fact that Christ Jesus fulfilled both the law and the prophet’s, no wonder he says that one who is least is greater than John!
This is a Biblical fact that cannot be disputed, another reality is that Dr Owuor cannot and shouldn’t be recognized as a Prophet .
Too add more into this, Apostle Paul in his letter to Timothy said Clearly that all scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. ( 2 Timothy 3:16) Therefore this whole idea of following Dr Owuor to be seen as ” holy and righteous ” is a fallacy and that’s why this sect has over the years developed into a cult.
Having studied this man’s calling and ministry and prophecies am afraid there are grave inconsistencies namely:
1. In his calling he claims that John the Baptist spoke to him to go prepare the 4 corners of the earth for the second coming of Christ, Is this not necromancy given the fact that John was killed? read Deuteronomy 17:9-13. No where even in Scripture has God sent a departed Spirit to authenticate a man’s ministry.
2. In 2011 he gave a Prophecy concerning an earthquake that would shake the Eiffel tower in France and that the French government would draft a rescue plan given that it’s a world heritage center. After the Tsunami that later hit Japan after him making such statements, he now later changes the Prophecy from the Eiffel tower to the Japanese Tsunami!! Surely is this not mocking God?
3. It has been reported and confirmed that people die at his crusades and not once, it can be remembered that 2 years ago at Kaptembwa 6 people died, before that at the afraha stadium 3 people died, if he has some prophetic powers why did this people have to die given the fact that they were in his presence?
4. He claims to have prophesied about the pale horse of the apocalypse that appeared in Egypt, tahrir square. But this was pure camera anomaly and has been proven. ( infact it’s a reflected image of a nearby fire)
5. This so called cloud of glory that the ministry has now idolized is pure Photoshop, I was physically present at that meeting and nothing like that was spotted only a rainbow. Infact it was after the meeting that one of his international visitors gave the picture to the ministry and since then it has been the center of attention, by the way looking at that picture someone with an umbrella is standing with that ‘ cloud ‘ above him, how come that person and the people around there can’t see it despite its size?
6. Earlier this year Fred Otieng, Dr Owuors personal assistant attempted to commit suicide, is this not an indication that something wrong is brewing from within?
7. There was a mission that According to news reporters failed in Nigeria.
Clearly every time this man speaks he is marked with controversies, I won’t be surprised this Nakuru meeting that is upcoming being marked by another controversy.

I am not a follower of Dr. Owuor. Neither am I a member of his kings outreach ministry. But I have the following to say to this man who has written a long epistle about Prophet Owuor:
1. So what?
2. What should we do?
3. Can he write another one with the testimonies of what God has done with the prophet
4. Where are the witnesses to this account
5. There are other ‘prophets’ whom he can investigate even by using internet links like he did with prophet owuor. Why hasn’t he?
6. If you were fasting together and you didn’t pray as an individual, how is it the problem of the prophet?
7. Dr. Owuor is not the word of God. Your failure to study the word and believe in the truth cannot be blamed on another person
8. Dr. Owuor is a human being as Elijah and you are. He has human weaknesses and if you expected him to be faultless, you will be shocked!

Hi Kevin, thank you for your article. l fully agree with your observation. Ever since my brother joined that repentance and holiness church his behaviour has totally changed. The sad thing he is literally worshiping Dr. Owour and fear has got hold of him and he calls us baal worshippers. He even left work to serve in one of the ‘alters’ as they call them. Now reality has checked in, he doesn’t have way of survival he has totally become a dependant. No rent, no food, no money to buy clothes, no bus fare, no self esteem. Very confused indeed. I have tried to intervene and told him to leave the church without any success. My question, how can we as a family approach or handle this case? It is so pathetic.

I want to start by saying that I have no vengeance aganaist the Anglican Church the sponsor of this blog. But I want to take time to detail my time as an Anglican. I was born Anglican 36 years ago. As a youth I was never taught about sexual sin but instead was taught about sex and never about holiness or sin. I attended many conferences including a national youth conference in between kakamega when I was just 12. I came back severly sick with maleria and I couldn’t tell you what we were taught for 4 days.
When I was about 16 I became sexually active, tried to commit suicide several times. I started sleeping with men at the same time. My school mother was caught red handed having sex with an Anglican priest in our church. I was devastated. I began having sex more frequently and ended up becoming a prostitute. At the same time, I sang in church in the youth choir, and no one cared until I aborted twice. So everything Dr owour is saying about this baal churches is true. My mentally disabled sisters son drowned in our local dam. Local reverend demanded to be paid six thousand shillings to bury him. My mother who is still an active Anglican was so depressed about it that she stopped attending the church for one month. My sister, another active Anglican was so mad. Recently my mother skipped a service because the local reverend sent a woman to collect more money as Thanksgiving offertory. I had client who are members of the Anglican Church in Nakuru. They planned to steal information from a man who owned an ngo in Nakuru. I’m guessing no one told them it’s wrong. My mother’s church was demolished by a woman member of the same church.My advice to the Anglican Church is this, listen to Dr owour and change. This hate business is taking you nowhere. Your reputation as a church on the ground is utterly destroyed. Just change and advice your members to live in holiness and stop the money business in church. If you reads the Bible you will know that all the servants God in the Bible were falsely accused, from Elijah, Nehemiah, John the Baptist and many others including the Lord Jesus Christ himself He was accused and even crucified falsely, and therefore according to me all the true servants of the Lord must be falsely accused, so go on Mr Okwara you are not doing a new thing you are just doing what Judas had done before. in other words

If you reads the Bible you will know that all the servants God in the Bible were falsely accused, from Elijah, Nehemiah, John the Baptist and many others including the Lord Jesus Christ himself He was accused and even crucified falsely, and therefore according to me all the true servants of the Lord must be falsely accused, so go on Mr Okwara you are not doing a new thing you are just doing what Judas had done before. in other words

It is not in the interest of pious Christians to discuss personalities in the ministry of God. With all the evil under the sun it would be more healthy to the body of Christ to discuss overcoming the world and living according the will of God. Since people are still caught up in analyzing men and women of God, it is true they get little time to commune with God, pray and fast for the sake of the Kingdom of God as such righteousness evades them! i strongly believe those who walk with God, He will always direct their steps towards the right direction. Brethren let us join hands to fight the vices that hinder us from experiencing the true love of Christ.
